The XRF, Alpha, Fritsch ball mill and computers are sensitive to fluctuations in power.
Especially for the Xrf, drops and peaks in voltage can damage the systems up to a level that several internal parts need replacement, or the machine is fully broken. Before installing the Liab AgroCares will advise their customers on the correct facilities and proper safety precautions in order to avoid permanent damage to the machine.
In order to prevent any damage that could cause costly repair of especially Xrf and alpha sensors, it is important to install a powerful UPS and surge protector in the Laboratory.
Additionally, it has been observed that frequent power cuts can cause a disconnect between the computer and the Xrf itself. Hence, this can cause error during the analysis. To prevent those communication issues, please make sure start the Xrf according to protocol and most importantly keep 1hr. of warming up period once the system is booting before analysing any gain measurement or soil sample.
As a general rule, please shut down your equipment when you experience a power outage or drops and peaks in voltage. Start working only when the electricity is stable again.
The Liab operator remain responsible of keeping the machines in good working conditions and to install all suitable precautions (UPS) that are necessary in the given location.
For proper supply AgroCares recommends the following:
Preparation room at least 9 power sockets and in the analysis room at least 6. Two UPS devices
are needed when fluctuations occur in the power network. The UPS devices will prevent the
laptops and machines from damage. SoilCares is not arranging the UPS devices, the costumer
should arrange this locally.
