All soil reports follow a standardized header format. Each report:
- Starts with the title “Fertilization and Management Advice”
- Displays the company logo and address in the top-right corner
- Under the report title, it includes customer details (name, address, and phone number)
Report Header Fields Explained
The numbered elements in the report header are explained below:
1. Sample Number (Barcode)
Each sample is identified by a unique barcode. Example:
AAABB00001A22
Barcode structure:
- First 3 letters → Always the same, this is the Lab code
- Next 2 letters → Version identifier
- 5 numbers → Sample number they are ascending (sequential)

1 letter → Sample type
- A = Soil
-
Last 2 numbers → Year of order creation
- Example: 18 = 2022
2. Date
- This indicates the order creation date, when the sample was registered
- Format: Year – Month – Day
3. Field Name
- Name of the field provided by the client
4. Field Size
- Size of the field as entered by the client
5. Soil Texture
- Soil texture classification based on analysis
6. Crop Type
- Selected crop for which the report is generated
7. Target Yield
- Expected yield target for the selected crop
- The fertilizer advice is based on the selected target yield. Default numbers are created for the target yield to prevent unrealistic advises.
