How to use your scanner with an unreliable internet connection

Internet or no internet, you can use your Scanner at all times. But, it is important to take extra care when you are temporarily off line or have an internet connection that is very bad and disappears occasionally. In this article we inform you what to do in case of an unstable internet connection.

When your internet connection is ok

Your application synchronizes frequently with the AgroCares database when you have a proper internet connection. The app arranges several things for you, such as: uploading the scans and orders that you created, downloading your new reports and confirming that your license is still valid. It is also synchronizing your information with the AgroCares Portal where you can manage all your data, and confirming with the AgroCares database if you are logged in or logged out from your application. 

When you have no internet connection

If you know that you are going to an area with no or an unreliable internet connection, then there are two things to do:

• Make sure that you are signed in to the app before you leave and then close the internet connection for your apps completely. Your application allows you to work offline. You can still create new customers and fields with the app. All scans that you create are saved in the application.
• When your work is done, make sure that you go to a place with a reliable internet connection before you go back online again. The application synchronizes all your data to the AgroCares database and you will receive your reports shortly. Take care that you do NOT close the app before you are online again. If you close your app then the saved data is lost.

When you have an unstable internet connection

Imagine that you are working in a remote area with no access to internet and you did not close your connection. You create several new clients, create orders and save new scans on your application while being offline.

Then, while working or traveling you reach a place where your phone gets access to a slow and unstable internet connection. Your app will try to upload all your data right away, will check if there is new data to download and tries check if you still have a valid license. All of that while your connection is very slow and switches off and on. This is a situation that you want to avoid. Your application might shut down or can’t confirm that you have a valid license anymore.

When your license is missing you are forced to sign-out and sign-in again to be able to continue working. Prevent this from happening by temporarily closing your internet connection and open it again when you are certain that you have stable access to internet When in doubt, there are several applications available which you can use to check the quality of your internet connection.
