Calibration is required before every soil sample is scanned. Before proceeding to calibrate the Scanner make sure that the Scanner is clean, there is not rests of soil on the glass of the Scanner. To clean the Scanner glass, you may use the soft brush provided together with the Scanner, and a cloth or paper towels, you can moisten these with some water.
The calibration of the F series consists of the following two steps:
1. Open Air calibration: hold the Scanner at about 1m distance from the ground/floor with the lights of the scanner facing down. Press the Scan button, the lights will flash, make sure that nothing is covering the Scanner lights (the glass surface). The application will let you know when the scan is finished with a green tick. You can then move to the next step of the calibration.
2. White calibration cap (reference): place the Scanner on top of the white side of the calibration cap and click the Scan button. Make sure the white side of the calibration cap is touching the surface of the Scanner and not the yellow side. The application will let you know when the scan is finished with a green tick. You can then move to the next step: scanning your soil sample!
