Splitting

The soil sample needs to be reduced again to make sure that the final sub-sample stays
representative for the entire field. This is done using a riffler that  reduces and divides the sample in two equal subsamples. This is called splitting. One subsample will be kept in a vial and used for the soil analysis. The remainder can be stored in a pot as a spare sample.
