We have released a new version of the AgroCares Scanner Solutions Android app.
The goal of this update is to make your daily scanning work smoother, clearer, and more reliable, especially when working in the field or under unstable network conditions!
You can update the app through Google Play. After the update, sign in with your existing AgroCares account credentials. Your license, scanner pairing, and report history are connected to your account and will be available once you log back in.
What has improved?
This update focuses on five main areas:
- More reliable synchronization
- A clearer Home screen
- Improved scanner pairing
- Faster report, rescan, and client workflows
- A clearer guided scan flow and improved field selection
Below you can find a more detailed explanation of each change.
1. Improved synchronization
Synchronization has been rebuilt to make the app more reliable during daily use.
Reports now move more smoothly through the processing pipeline and reach their final status as expected. Automatic synchronization has also been improved, especially for users working in areas with unstable or patchy internet connection.
This means:
- fewer interruptions during synchronization;
- better retry behaviour when the connection is unstable;
- lighter queue handling in the background;
- smoother movement from scan to processed report.
2. Redesigned Home screen
The Home screen has been redesigned to become the main starting point for fieldwork. From the Home screen, you can now more easily:
- connect your scanner;
- continue a work session;
- keep a selected client active across multiple scans;
- return to your latest reports.
Work Session
The new Work Session section helps when you are scanning several samples for the same grower, client, or farm. Once a client is selected, the app can keep that client active for new scans. This means you do not need to select the same client again and again during repeated sampling.
Latest Reports
The Latest Reports section gives quick access to your most recent analyses, so you can return to today’s work more easily.
3. Improved scanner pairing
Scanner pairing has been redesigned to make the connection process clearer and easier to follow. The app now shows the pairing status step by step: Scanning > Connecting > Connected.
This helps you understand what the app is doing during the pairing process and reduces uncertainty about whether the scanner is responding.
Recently used scanners may also be marked as Trusted, making it easier to identify the right scanner when multiple devices are nearby.
Once a scanner is connected, the app also shows the scanner battery percentage directly in the pairing area.
4. Reports and Rescan
The Reports page has been updated to make it easier to find previous analyses and repeat measurements. You can now filter reports by:
status;
- license;
- date range.
You can also sort reports by:
- report number;
- date;
- client;
- field.
Rescan
A new Rescan action is available on report cards. This lets you repeat a measurement using the original report context, instead of setting up the same report again from the beginning. This is useful when you need to repeat a scan for the same client, crop, field, or sample context.
5. Clients page improvements
The Clients page now includes new filtering and sorting options to help you find the right grower or client faster. You can filter between:
- all clients;
- clients with reports.
You can sort clients by:
- client name;
- creation date.
When no clients match the selected filter, the app now shows a clearer empty-state message instead of a blank list.
6. Switch Client from the Home screen
A new Switch Client option makes it easier to change the active client without leaving the Home screen.
Recently used clients are shown at the top as frequently used clients, so you can quickly return to the growers or farms you work with most often.
You can also search across the full client list directly from the Switch Client screen. This is especially useful when moving between farms, growers, or sampling locations during the same workday!
7. Guided scan flow
The scan flow has been redesigned with a clearer step-by-step structure.
A progress indicator now appears at the top of the scan flow, showing where you are in the process and what steps are still ahead. The general flow includes steps such as:
- Product
- Crop
- Questions
- Client
- Location
- Scan
- Finalize
Completed steps are marked as you move forward, making it easier to follow the process from start to finish.
In some workflows, client and field selection are optional. This can be helpful when performing quick scans, trial work, or prospecting visits where full client or field details are not yet needed.
8. Field selection improvements
Field selection has been updated to better support real fieldwork situations. You can now choose different ways to define a field:
- search for an address;
- enter coordinates;
- draw a field boundary on a map or satellite view;
- use point or polygon drawing;
- import an existing field file.
Zone Splitting
After setting a field boundary, you can use the new Zone Splitting tool to divide the field into strips or blocks. Zones can be created using settings such as:
- angle;
- strip width;
- block width.
This helps users create practical field zones directly in the app, without needing to leave the scan workflow.
9. Leaf Analysis updates
The Leaf Analysis flow has been updated with a broader crop catalogue and clearer sampling guidance. The app now includes more crop options, including crops such as potato, barley, wheat, and more.
For supported crops, the app can show:
- crop stage options;
- plant part selections;
- reference images;
- previous-crop selection.
Reference images help confirm that you are selecting and scanning the correct plant part before continuing. The previous-crop selector is now included in the same step, so rotation context can be captured without an extra screen.
10. Soil Report display improvements
Soil reports now include colour-coded range bars for parameters. Each reading is shown against its optimal range, making it easier to understand where a value sits without needing to compare it manually against a separate table.
This visual update is designed to make reports easier to read and interpret at a glance.
11. Calibration and scan screen refinements
The calibration and scan screens have received visual refinements. These updates improve alignment, spacing, and overall clarity during scanning and calibration steps. The functionality remains familiar, but the screens are cleaner and easier to follow. For example, the material list now loads reliably on FeedCares licenses, the interface has been polished throughout, and sample location selection is now part of the scan flow.
