Activate the SoilCares uploader on your laptop before you start scanning samples on the Alpha sensor (Scanning with the Alpha). You will see a window like the image below. The uploader should run in the background of your laptop, even when your internet connection is temporarily unavailable.
What the uploader does for your lab:
- Renames the scan name immediately after the scan is saved. This prevents the Alpha software from overwriting the first Alpha scan with the second one.
- The uploader sends the scans to the SoilCares system.
- If there is no internet connection then the uploader will keep the scan and send it when the connection is restored.
- The uploader registers which sensors are connected to a scan
SoilCares installs the uploader on your labs computer before it is shipped to you. If you replace your computer or connect an extra computer to your lab then you need to install the uploader again. You can do so via the Settings option that is accessible via the menu in the upper right corner of your window. Select 'Settings' and register the correct sensors on the left side of your window. A standard Liab consists out of an Alpha sensor and a boxxrf. After sensor registration you click the download button op the Scan uploader.
Unzip the folder on your C drive and create a shortcut of the 'SoilCaresScanUploader.exe'. Place the shortcut on your Desktop.
