The Scanner can be used offline if no network or only a weak connection is available. When using the SoilCares app offline a red bar across the upper part of the app will indicate that you are working offline. See below image.
1. Client registration
It is possible to register new clients while working offline. The process of registering a client remains the same as working online.
2. Adding a new field
It is possible to register a new field while you working offline. But please be aware that you can’t select any other location except ‘use current location’ while scanning offline. Google maps requires online status in order to display the map where you can pin point your field. However, you are still able to use the ‘use current location’ option in order to create a new field.
3. Scanning Calibration Cap and Soil Sample
When used offline the scanning process remains the same as online.
4. Receiving a report
Once you completed your scan the order will stay on hold (see below example) until your phone is connected to a network or WiFi. When the phone is connected to a network or WiFi it might take a few minutes until you receive your report.
Note: Be aware that scans remain saved within the app. If the app crashes before you could synchronize the data it is possible that you loose your offline scans!
